The Exchange Program for young French and German Journalists seeks to attract future generations of opinion-makers for Franco-German cooperation, particular in view of the challenges presented by Europe's increasing integration and growing indifference to European issues among the continent's citizens. The programme particularly addresses young journalists still passing their vocational training as well as entrants of the journalist's profession. Each ten young German and French journalists are offered the possibility to do a two- to three-week journalistic practical training at a news' media editorial staff in their neighbour's country.
In 2002, the Robert Bosch-Foundation in cooperation with the French Embassy in Berlin launched the 'FranceMobil' Programme. Using vans supplied by Renault Deutschland AG, twelve French graduates visit kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, vocational schools, and high schools across Germany. Their mission is to raise the interest of students, teachers, and parents in French language and culture, to convey an attractive image of modern France, and help students make an informed choice when deciding which foreign language to learn.
