International Conference The main objective of the conference is a comprehensive stock-taking of cultural history in Europe. Participants from over ten European countries will be reporting on the state of cultural history in their respective lands. At the same time, they will also be considering the form of its institutionalisation at their countries’ universities, research institutes and other institutions.
The two-day symposium intends to put the possibilities, opportunities as well as the limitations of current critical curating up for discussion based on the presentation of exemplary projects, curatorial programmes, theoretical analyses and artists talks. The symposium will focus on art institutions, exhibition formats and exhibition paradigms. It will include presentations and discussions and additionally serve as a communicative platform enabling curators, students, scholars and artists to engage with curating.
The main thematic focus of cAIR10 is the application of interculturality research, understood to mean any constructive exchange, interaction or dialogue between theory and practice in any area of interculturality.
The conference program will include a range of presentation and exchange formats including keynotes, parallel sessions, poster sessions and open-space plenary/workshops.
