The joint German-Israeli foundation seeks to create a network of young multipliers from both countries and to promote forward looking projects in the fields of culture, education, business, academia and the media. Therefore it supports contact and cooperation between youth and young adults in all areas of German-Israeli relations, in particular between specialists and professionals who could in the future assume responsibility for maintaining and developing bilateral relations.
Currently there are projects with
students of the Film and Television Academy in Potsdam and an Israeli film school generating internet and mobile phone “spots” that give the viewer a glimpse of how the other country is perceived,
the German Centre for Fairytale Culture developing with German and Israeli comic artists a multimedia-based comic-guide for Berlin and Tel Aviv,
well-known musicians and young, up-and-coming performers from Germany and Israel who will put on concerts and offer workshops during the festival in celebration of Tel Aviv’s 100-year birthday,
the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel offering together with two Israeli universities at a summer academy for advanced students from both countries a forum to discuss both the challenges and changes facing German and Israeli society.
The Foundation German-Israeli Future Forum is active both in Germany and Israel and gives priority to collaborative projects carried out by German and Israeli organisations or projects that have a part of their programme in both countries; juristic persons under private and public law in Germany and Israel may receive funding.
