The Commissioner coordinates the preparation, performance and further treatment of resolutions passed at the political voting committees and the approach of both countries in the European committees. He takes part in the Franco-German councils of ministers and presides over the interministerial Commission for Franco-German Cooperation.

The German-French internetportal www.deutschland-frankreich.diplo.de is jointly supervised by the German and French gouvernment and comprehends an expanded offer of information including handy tips and a list of links. It provides current information about the activities of the Commissioner for Franco-German Cooperation.

The Addressbook of German-French cooperation, which was once part of his tasks, is now attended by the German Embassy in Paris. It holds information on all institutions which promote and support cultural, scientific, academic, professional cooperations and other partnerships between France and Germany.
