Körber-Foundation

Purpose/Activities

The Körber-Foundation is a non-profit organisation, brought into being by the German entrepreneur Kurt A. Körber in 1959 to meet concerns of societal welfare. Today strengthening civil society by encouraging civil comittment is among the Foundation's main concerns.

The Foundation's statutory fields of activities are:

International Affairs,

Education,

Science,

Civil Society,

Young Culture.

Acting as an operating foundation, the Körber-Foundation out of its locations of residence based in Hamburg and Berlin develops and promotes programmes for which it retains full responsibility, while still remaining open to suggestions and cooperations. The aim of its work is to try out new ideas and methods and to transfer them to society. The Körber Foundation seeks to encourage others to take initiative into their own hands.
