Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ)

Purpose/Activities

 

The Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) cooperates in matters about youth policy on European level with the member states of the European Union as well as with the partner countries of the Council of Europe. It is responsible for realisation and advancement of the EU youth programmes and conducts the internet portal Youth for Europe.

 

Major task of the international youth work in line with the State’s Children and Youth Plan by the Federal Gouvernment is the furtherance and promotion of non-school meeting and exchange programmes for youth and young adults at home and abroad as well as the exchange of experiences for specialists of the child and youth welfare service. The realisation of the programmes is normally carried out by public and unattached institutions of the youth welfare service, in particular by youth organisations, educational institutions as well as institutions of the international youth companionships and youth social services.
