Experiment e.V. is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Bonn, Germany. Its goal is the exchange between people of all cultures, religions and age groups in order to contribute to mutual understanding. With the motto "Living together. Learning together" and as part of the world-wide oldest exchange organization "The Experiment in International Living" Experiment e.V. has been organising intercultural programmes since 1932.
Exchange programmes range from school exchange to programmes for senior citizens, from homestay programmes to volunteer services.
Homestay as a medium for intercultural understanding:
The stay with a host family as a medium for intercultural understanding plays a central role in the exchange programmes: instead of living in a hotel or youth hostel participants are placed in selected host families world-wide as a temporary family member. In this way they are immersed in the new culture and environment from the very beginning, which eases their transition into the daily life of the host country. Thus participants get the opportunity to see the world from the perspective of another culture.
Experiment e.V. exchange programmes are subject to high, international quality standards, applied to Experiment's carefully selected partner organisations abroad as well. Being a founding member of the work group for non-profit youth exchange organisations (AJA) is continiously awarded with the quifd quality seal for sending organisations.

Experiment e.V. promotes mutual understanding, respect and tolerance. The mutual experiences gained by participants and host families alike are not merely a valuable personal experience in itself, Experiment's e.V. particular concern is to sensitize individuals for living in a global world.
