Purpose/Activities

The European Institute Klaus Mehnert (EIKM) is an institute of the Kaliningrad National Technical University. Its mission is to organise and implement the postgraduate, German speaking study programme in European Science, whose graduates are qualified for a position in the context of Russian-European, especially the Russian-German relationships.

In addition, the institute is responsible for

the organisation of expert meetings, conferences, symposia, workshops and summer schools,

the award of the Willy Brandt price of the Socialist Group in European Parliament for the best graduates of a year group,

the establishment of cooperation with institutions, faculties, organisations, that feel required similar objectives,

the assistance of teachers and students in the study programme during their stay in Kaliningrad.

The institute has its own specialist library and residence rooms in the Kaliningrad National Technical University.
