Purpose/Activities

 

With circa 90 colleagues and about 55 expert advisors the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA) looks after the schooling abroad. Worldwide more about 1000 schools among it 140 German schools abroad are personally and financially supported. Around 2000 teachers abroad, programme teachers and expert advisors are operating at this institutions. During their activity abroad they are attended organisationally, pedagogically and financially by the ZfA.

 

The activities of the Central Agency for Schools Abroad include:

pedagogical and administrative consulting of the German schools and educational institutions abroad as well as assistance to establish quality management

advertising, selection and placing of teachers for assignment at German schools abroad as well as at public educational institutions

preparation and further education for teachers

financial responsibility for German teachers abroad and programme teachers

preparation for German and international certificates

formation and performing of examinations in the field German as a foreign language (DaF) and the German Language Diploma (DSD) awarded by the Conference of Ministers of Culture

German speaking expert lessons

education expert lessons

job-related education

grants in line with the foreign cultural and educational policy

constitution of structures for internationale cooperation
