Purpose/Activities

 

The Institute Cervantes is a non-profit foundation of the Spanish State with the aim to encourage abroad the Spanish language an the cultural possessions of Spain as well as all Latin American countries. The institute has besides its main office in Madrid 77 branch offices in 41 countries of the world – in Germany in the cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Bremen and Frankfurt.

 

The tasks of the institute embrace:

Teaching the Spanish language through a wide range of language courses and teacher training programmes

Allocation of multimedia rooms, lending libraries and documentation centers

Presenting of movie screenings, concerts, lectures, readings of Spanish-speaking authors, workshops and conferences
