European League of Institutes for the Arts (ELIA)
Purpose/Activities
The European League of Institutes for the Arts represents all disciplines in the arts amongst architecture, dance, design, fine art, media art, music and theatre.
By the network of its member institutions ELIA enables and supports the dialog, the mobility and all forms of artistic projects for artists, instructors, managing employees, administration and students.
The duties of ELIA contains:
international representation of interests, substitution and patronage higher art education,
the organisation of specialised and focussed symposia, courses and workshops,
research and development activities in relations to European and worldwide topics of the higher art education.
Activities of ELIA:
the arranging of a biennial conference for members and delegates,
Teachers’ Academy aims to contribute to professional staff development for teachers in higher arts education institutions in an international setting,
Leadership Symposium engages senior level managers and decision-makers in key themes and current debates in cultural management and leadership in arts education.
in regard of a changing European context of new employment opportunities for artists artesnet develops new approaches in learning, teaching and research in the arts and pilots partnerships between art schools and organisations.
