Purpose/Activities

 

The British Council is the international organisation for education and culture of Great Britain. It was established 1934 with the objective to strength the influence through the development of cultural relations. Accordingly it encourages cultural and educational exchange between the United Kingdom and other countries.

 

Belongs to its duties:

organisation of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which can taken in fourteen cities in Germany up to 36 times a year

offerings for language students and English teachers

appropriation of information about study and science in Great Britain

realisation of projects about society and culture

Der British Council now has over 220 offices in 110 countries and territories across the world.
