Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO)

Purpose/Activities

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization is an inter-Arabian agency of the Arab League constituting of 22 member states and maintaining branch offices in Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and Syria.

 

Its activities embrace:

development of human resources in the Arabic countries,

modernisation and reconditioning of education, culture, science and communication,

maintenance and support of the Arabic language and the Islamic culture inside and outside of the Arabic world,

promotion of dialogue and cooperation between the Arabic-Islamic world and the other cultures.

 

Since 2007 between the ALECSO and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation exists a skeleton agreement with the aim to enhance the education and instruction systems as well as to extand the relations between the European and the Arabic world.
