Solely projects of major importance in the field of foreign cultural policies, respectively projects in line with the rules of international protocol are directly funded by the Department for Foreign Cultural Policy of the Federal Foreign Office (for instance guest performances of symphony orchestras). Most other projects of Foreign Cultural Policy are organized and carried out by cultural intermediary organizations.
