LEONARDO DA VINCI is the EU sectoral programme in the field of vocational education and advanced vocational training. Being part of the Lifelong Learning Programme it supports cooperation between enterprises, professional associations, social partners as well as colleges and institutions of professional education.
The following activities are in line with the programme's objects eligible for funding:
Initial vocational training aims at the support of transnational mobility of persons undergoing initial vocational education and training,
People in the labour market aims at the support of transnational mobility of workers, selfemployed or people available for employment (including graduates) undergoing a training period abroad in a vocational training context,
Professionnals in vocational education and training aims at the support of transnational mobility of persons responsible for vocational training and/or human resources,
Preparatory visits help institutions wishing to establish a new project within line the programme's activities to contact and meet suitable partner institutions and/or develop a workplan in order to prepare the project/partnership application,
Partnerships are multilateral frameworks for small-scale cooperation activities between organisations working in the field of vocational education and training,
Transfer of innovation aims to improve the quality and attractiveness of the European Vocational Education and Training (VET) system by adapting and integrating innovative content or results from innovative projects into public and/or private vocational training systems and companies at the national, local, regional, or sectoral level,
Development of innovation aims to improve the quality of training systems through the development of innovative contents, methods and procedures within Vocational Education and Training (VET),
Thematic networks improving the quality, European dimension and visibility of activities or issues of common interest in the field of vocational and educational training.
The programme's main objects are:
the improvement of the quality and attractiveness of the systems of Vocational Education and Training (VET's),
facilitating access to institutions of professional education and enhancing chances for vocational integration,
strengthening the European dimension of systems and modalities of professional education.
