Support programmes that address themselves to students, trainees and young vocational entrants from abroad on the one hand support the integration of young people with a migrational background in Germany and want to promote intercultural dialogue as well. On the other hand the programmes promote the development of intercultural competence and encourage the sociopolitical committment of young people in their home countries.
The START-Scholarship Programme launched by the Hertie-Foundation promotes children of immigrants living in Germany in their effort to attain one of the following German school leaving certificates: the Certificate of Secondary Education, the General Certificate of Secondary Education, the advanced technical college entrance qualification or the general qualification for university entrance. The programme wants to encourage and support young people in their school education and in their efforts to achieve a higher school leaving certificate.
The 'Talent im Land'-Scholarship Programme launched by the Robert Bosch Foundation supports children of immigrants living in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. The programme's objective is to create a positive learning environment, that supports the development of personal abilities and individual talents. The scholarship comprises expenses for learning and educational material as well as seminars, study days and summer school academies. The scholarship support ends with the attainment of the advanced technical college entrance qualification or the higher education entrance qualification.
The Scholarship Programme Horizonte (website in German) provided by the Hertie-Foundation addresses itself to first-year and advanced students of the teaching profession with a migrational background. The programme is open to applicants of all study graduations, subjects and advanced levels of studies. It supports excellent future teachers with a migrational background and wants to attract young committed high-school graduates for the teaching profession.
The Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg supports young people from Central and Southeastern Europe as well as Central Asia in their sociopolitical commitment for the civil society of their home countries. In international summer seminars, training courses and international meetings the attendants of the Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg acquire practical skills, project related knowledge and get the assistance needed to develop and implement individual project ideas.
The Programme Voluntary Vocational Practical Training (website in German) run by the German-Czech Coordination Centre Tandem addresses itself to 16 to 26 year-old trainees, students of vocational schools and vocational entrants of both countries, willing to do a voluntary vocational practical training in their respective neighbouring country. Objective of the 3 to 12week voluntary vocational practical training in the neighbouring country is the gaining of vocational experience as well as personal development.

With the US-German Internship Program the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany) Association gives students from the United States the possibility to work for three months in Germany. The traineeships are in German companies and give insights in German economy and culture to the students.
