The advancement of the German language abroad is all part of the function of the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD). Therefore about 440 DAAD-instructors are sent out at universities in 102 countries. Assistant teachers of German as a foreign language (DaF) can apply for an annual scholarship.
