The German Development Service supports local civil organisations and municipal structures by providing specialist advice, if required by financial support. It takes part at the Civil Peace Service and sends peace experts which get involved with civil conflict resolution and peace promotion. Currently it works in 47 partner countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and is in charge of different projects.
In West and Central Africa for example:
Participation of travelling stock breeders in local decision processes in Niger.
In Eastern and Southern Africa for example:
Construction of local competences in Civil Conflict Resolution in Ethiopia,
Consultation and stabilisation of the department peace promotion in Sudan,
Peace museum as contribution to the process of coming to terms with the past in Rwanda,
Furtherance of peacefully cohabiting in Teso-Kramoja/Uganda.
In Asia for example:
Support of survivors of the Khmer Rouge regime in contact with traumas in Cambodia,
Strengthening of the national human rights commission in Nepal,
Strengthening of the role of the woman in the civil conflict resolution on the Philippines.
In the Middle East and Central Asia for example:
Strengthening of local peace capabilities by theatrical work in Afghanistan,
Construction of an Israeli Palestinian German dialogue platform in the Palestinian Territories.
In Latin America and the Caribbean for example:
Analysis, monitoring and transformation of social conflicts in Bolivia,
Support of farmer's organisations by the resolution of land conflicts in Guatemala,
Support by the compilation of a national victim's register in Peru.
