Support of the DAAD

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers a Search Engine providing scholarships for a research period abroad of German junior scientists. The application documents can submitted at the International Office of the respective university.

Absolventen der Studienfächer Germanistik, Deutsch als Fremdsprache oder der jeweiligen Regional-Philologien bietet der DAAD Stipendien für einen einjährigen Auslandsaufenthalt als Sprachassistenten im Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache.

For fostering the academic relations, the DAAD arranges long and short term teaching positions for German academic instructors at universities abroad.

In North America the DAAD supports guest professors in the field of German studies.

Alongside the DAAD is responsible for the EU Education Programmes in the field of higher education.

Support programmes run by the EU

The ERASMUS Programme promotes guest professorships at European partner universities to strengthen the cooperation between higher education institutions of different countries.

The Jean Monnet Programme fosters teaching activities on European integration as well as the association of professors and researchers to study the integration process in Europe.

Support programmes run by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers young German scientists several scholarships for a research stay abroad.

The Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship enables postdoctoral researchers to carry out a self-chosen long-term research project in cooperation with an academic host at a research institution abroad.

The JSPS Research Fellowship fosters a self-chosen research project in cooperation with an academic host at a selected national research institution in Japan.

With the NSC Taiwan Fellowship a self-chosen research project in cooperation with an academic host at a research institution in Taiwan can be arranged.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers experienced German scientists promotion for a research stay abroad.

Support programmes run by the DFG

The German Research Association (DFG) awards appropriations and supports research projects.

Various Research Fellowships enable young scientists to accomplish a research project abroad.

The DFG provides funds for staff, scientific instrumentation, consumables, travel, publications etc.

Scientific networks serve the academic exchange. The DFG bears the expenses for travel and stay as well as publications.

The DFG supports the scholarship programme of the Max Kade Foundation that fosters research stays of German natural scientists and physicians in the USA.

Support programmes run by the Robert Bosch Foundation

The Robert Bosch Foundation provides stays abroad of German scientists with various programmes.

The Russian-German double degree programme European Studies is directed at graduates from all university degree programmes worldwide and offers the possibility to get in one year a Russian diploma and a German master degree.

The Lectureship Programme provides fellowships for German-speaking university graduates to teach and carry out projects at universities in Eastern Europe and China.

In line with the programme Robert Bosch Cultural Managers in Central and Eastern Europe fellows are sent for up to two years at cultural institutions in Central, Eastern, and South Eastern Europe, where they provide conceptual and organizational support.

The Johann Gottfried Herder Initiative is aimed at emeritus or retired German professors and university lecturers from all fields, who are interested in a long-term teaching experience at a guest university, and who are willing to lend their experience to the improvement of university education and the development of a cooperation with foreign universities.
