European Commission: Cultural Development

"Creative Europe", the Commission's proposal for its future funding programme for the cultural and creative sectors for the period 2014-2020, proposes an important new focus on audience development in order to foster long-term audiences for European cultural works. The conference will provide inspirational examples of audience development by cultural organisations and foster European exchange of practice on audience development strategies.

Ein Rahmenprogramm aus Filmvorführungen, Ausstellungen, Diskussionen, Lesungen, Stadtführungen und Konzerten bringt MitOst-Mitglieder, Partnerorganisationen und die Menschen vor Ort zusammen.

Kern der n-ost-Medienkonferenz ist die gemeinsame Arbeit von lokalen und auswärtigen Journalisten. Es finden Diskussionen mit regionalen Akteuren, Vertretern internationaler Organisationen und NGOs statt, wodurch aus einer vergleichenden Perspektive ein Blick auf die Nachfolgestaaten Jugoslawiens ermöglicht wird. So können aktuelle Tendenzen und Entwicklungen innerhalb und außerhalb der Eu ausgelotet werden.

Sie wird von der Arbeitsgruppe „Kultur und Entwicklung“ (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), GIZ, Deutsche Welle, Goethe-Institut, Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa)) gemeinschaftlich konzipiert und in diesem Jahr federführend von der GIZ realisiert.

Internationale Konferenz "Der Wert Europas"

Die Tagung wirft einen Blick darauf, dass das europäische Projekt für mehr steht als für Zinsspreads, Haircuts und Rettungsschirme. Deshalb werden hochkarätige europäische Intellektuelle, Politiker und Wirtschaftsfachleute darüber debattieren, worin der Wert Europas besteht. Zugleich will die Konferenz der Debatte über die Zukunft Europas einen Impuls geben.

Aesthetics and Politics: Counter-Narratives, New Publics, and the Role of Dissent in the Arab World The research project Europe in the Middle East—The Middle East in Europe (EUME) at the Berlin-based Forum Transregionale Studien and the ‘Center for Translation Studies’ of the American University in Cairo invite doctoral and postdoctoral scholars of Comparative Literature, Cultural Anthropology, Middle East Studies, Political Science, and Sociology to apply for an international Summer Academy at the American University in Cairo. Participants will receive grants that cover the costs of travel and accommodation.
